Aida Gatfield obtained a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 and an Honours Bachelor of Science from the same institution in 1991, where she was awarded the Gold Medal in Biology. In the interim she received a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School in 1999 and was called to the bar in 2001. She practised labour and employment law in London, Ontario.

Aida Gatfield is a lawyer with extensive experience in human rights, employment and labour law.  Aida worked in private practice for over a decade with Hicks Morley LLP. She advised clients on a variety of workplace issues with numerous scenarios. She has represented clients before courts and tribunals.

During her tenure at Hicks Morley, Aida also acted as an external investigator conducting workplace investigations to both private and public sector employers. In this capacity, Aida investigated complaints alleging discrimination, harassment and bullying in the workplace.

Aida was seconded on a short-term placement as a human rights specialist to a large public sector employer. While in this position, she was responsible for the employer’s intake of complaints, resolution of complaints, as well as delivery of training programs to its nearly 2000 employees.

Aida has conducted numerous training seminars on a diverse array of workplace issues both to specific clients as well as to more general audiences at conferences.
